Speed versus C

Dear Sir ,

Would you please give the performance ratio of MLTon versus C. OCaml people
say their implementation might be 3 times slower than C for a small program
but could be as efficient as C for large programs.
What is MLton's efficience versus C?

P.S. As I understand the CPS (continuation passing style ) used to implement
SML/NJ will be abandoned as it did not produce small and fast standalone
executables

Is MLton portable to other OSes?
