extra files in mlton-20001004

The lastest source RPM (mlton-20001004) has the following ~ files:
    mlton-20001004/src/include/ccodegen.h~
    mlton-20001004/src/include/mlton.h~
and the following .old file
    mlton-20001004/src/basis-library/io/text-io.sml.old
and the following junk (?):
    mlton-20001004/src/basis-library/misc/suffix.ast

Also there is
    mlton-20001004/src/runtime/mlton-lib.s
which  definitely  looks  machine-generated,  so  I gather that it comes from
mlton-lib.c, right?
