Dear authors,

Here is some information on the paper presentations at ICFP.  Please
pass it on to your coauthors if any.

In the main meeting room, there will be two overhead projectors for
transparencies, and one video projector.  There are two ways to use
the video projector: either you'll connect your laptop to the
projector (but beware of potential hardware incompatibilities,
especially with older laptops), or you can put your PDF, Postscript or
PowerPoint presentation on a floppy, and use the conference-provided PC
(running Windows 98 with PowerPoint, Acrobat Reader and Ghost View
preinstalled) to do the presentation.

The local organizers favor the floppy-PC approach over the laptop
approach because it avoids the hardware incompatibilities (replacing
them with software incompatibilities instead :-) and minimizes
context-switching time between talks.  Still, they will do everything
possible to connect your laptop to the projector.

If you plan to use the video projector, please also bring
transparencies as a backup.

For the presentations themselves, please plan for 25 minutes for the
talk and 5 minutes for the questions.
