I assume you are talking about make-rpms, which I was assuming only would be run
by us, and mostly only by me. It should be possible to rewrite make-rpms to not
use CVS and to run in the current source directory. It's on the todo if you
want it to be.

I don't understand the problem you are having well enough. Can you either (1)
use CVS or (2) fake what happens in make-rpms by hand?
