Fine by me.  One more remark: I hadn't realized that GC_arrayAllocate
could trigger a GC.  Since it is a C-call that mayGC and returns, then it
suffers from that extra shuffling that I mentioned in my commit email.
So, even though I doubt it'll improve anything that much, it'll go away in
the future.
