benchmarks for the release

I grabbed the documentation on Rinjdael, but it was a bit much and I never did
it.
I'm confused why we are still outputting calls to empty functions.  At the
least I would think a trivial peep-hole would fix this.
As to the double alignment, I wouldn't think it would be a big win for nucleic
since I would guess that those references are going to be cache hits, and I
don't think you win much on those (but I'm not sure)
