What Red Hat have you been compiling MLton on?  I could install Red Hat
9.0 and give it a shot there.  Actually, that might not be a bad idea any way
so we would have Red Hat 9 RPMs.
As to including typedef's in .h files, note that you cannot have two typedefs
for the same name at the top level in the same file.  Is this going to be a
problem?
