Strange. Here's the install info I've got:
[fluet@lennon runtime]$ /sbin/install-info --version
install-info (GNU texinfo) 4.0
How about the more verbose dir file:
echo '!@File: dir,#Node: Top' | tr '!@#' "\037\n\t" >gmp -stuff/info/dir &&
I'd prefer going with that, because install-info does add the entry.
BTW, Henry, are there any software systems that you do like? ;) Besides
MLton without threads. ;)
