Ah, I figured that it would have been tested before the call.
It's too bad about the #ifdef's.
How serious is the Cygwin problem with 2 gig? Note, Linux used to have the
same problem by default, although you could play games. With Linux the
problem was that the kernel really wanted to have all of physical memory
mapped in as well as all the user process. The old default was 2+2 (gig), or
3+1 (these numbers being physical memory plus process virtual space, although
I'm not sure what the order was). This problem still exists, but has some
work-arounds.
