Nothing immediately comes to mind, but I'll think about it some more.
Looking through the benchmarks for places where MLton does particularly
well doesn't lend itself to many small examples.  Although peek stands out
as a small benchmark, but it may not have all the features.
On the other hand, it does remind me that we should probably say
something about exceptions in the intro.  It's another high-level language
feature that can be costly in some systems, but is handled well by MLton.
I think exception control flow is one of the reasons that count-graphs
does well.

Sure thing.  Steve's certainly got the market cornered on understanding
the garbage collector.  But I'll start thinking about what to say about
the native codegen.
