Hi guys. A few weeks back, Henry mentioned to John our MLton meeting
coming up in February. Henry, Matthew, Suresh, and I are meeting for
three days, Feb 21 - 23, in Evanston to discuss all things MLton. It
will be a very informal meeting with no set schedule, but we have lots
we can talk about: porting to x86-64, source level profiling, the 2002
basis, the C code generator, implementing exceptions, limit checks,
flattening, a new front-end, a MLton journal paper, ... Just to give
you an idea :-).
I want to repeat Henry's invitation to have you join us for all or
part of Feb 21 if you're interested. It might be a little tough going
since the four of us share a lot of context some of which you don't
have, but I think there should be a lot of chances to share useful
information.
Also, If there's interest, I'd like to offer to give a talk on MLton
at the U. Chicago CS department on one of the preceeding couple of
days (Feb 19 or 20). It would mostly likely be a general overview
talk, rather than focusing on some specific optimization. Let me
know.
Also, if you know someone at Depaul who might be interested in joining
us on Feb 21 or in having me give a MLton talk there (on the other day
of Feb 19 or 20 :-), please put us in touch. Thanks.
