Yes, I agree that the in-place mark-compact is better, it is just that (perhaps
only in my naive-ness) that the simple copy to disk and then copy back would
have been an easy hack and would give you a good chunk of what the in-place
compaction gives you (i.e., a good percentage for less effort, not that it
would actually be better).
