Welcome to Cynbe ru Taren (http://www.muq.org/~cynbe/cynbe.html), who
has joined the MLton mailing list. He has been working with compilers
and interpreters since the mid '70s. In the 80's, he wrote an
optimizing compiler for the 80386 and created the Citadel BBS system.
In the 90's he did all the initial design and coding for the Digital
Anatomist project at the University of Washington. For the last
decade and half, he has been working on Internet-based community
software (see muq.org, muq.sourceforge.net).
He is interested in using SML/NJ for building a MUD/MUCK-style virtual
world system. He likes SML/NJ because of its MIT-style license,
incremental compilation to native code, and heap save features. He's
following the MLton list to see what ideas he might be able to apply.
Welcome!
